Provide specialist medical services to those suffering from sickle cell

Governor Shri Patel said that everyone together will have to make positive efforts to bring growth, progress and prosperity in the life of tribal community. Continuous efforts will have to be made to bring improvement in the lives of the people of the tribal community. Governor Shri Patel was addressing a debate on prevention of sickle cell disease at Indira Gandhi Tribal National University, Amarkantak today.
The debate was inaugurated by the Governor Shri Patel by garlanding the photo of Maa Saraswati and lighting the lamp. On this occasion MLA Shri Phundelal Singh Marko, District Panchayat President Smt. Roopmati Singh, Chancellor Dr. Mukul Ishwarlal Shah, Vice Chancellor Prof. Prakash Mani Tripathi, officers, public representatives and members of voluntary social organisations were also present.
Governor Shri Patel said that everyone’s goal is human welfare. I have a great expectation from all of you that you will go among the people of the tribal society and cooperate with them in the matter of their growth and progress. By guiding them, we will try to bring them on path of development and progress with confidence. Governor Shri Patel said that good health is also necessary along with development. Sickle cell disease is more prevalent in tribal areas. Many health disorders arise due to sickle cell disease. Awareness is essential for the prevention of sickle cell disease. Information about the causes of sickle cell disease and what are the measures to prevent it should reach the people of the tribal society living in remote areas.
