Dr. Neeraj Kumar Singh, Deputy Librarian, A C Joshi Library, Panjab University, Chandigarh was awarded the prestigious “University Librarian of the year 2021” award by Madhya Pradesh Library Association at a function organised at Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology, Bhopal on 14 Dec 2021.

The award was given in recognition of Dr. Neeraj Kumar Singh’s professional excellence and outstanding contribution in the application of IT in the field of library services. This award was presented by Shri Om Prakash Sakhlecha , Minister of Science & Technology, MSME, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh ,in the presence of Dr. Anil Kothari, DG, MPCOST Bhopal, Dr. Pushpendra Pal Singh, OSD, Madhya Pradesh Madhyam, Govt. of M.P., Prof K.G Suresh, Vice-Chancellor, Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism & Communication, Bhopal, Dr. Prabhat Pandey, President, MPLA and Dr. Sandeep Pathak, Deputy Librarian, IISER Bhopal.
Dr. Neeraj has been serving in Panjab University for the last 15 years and has contributed towards the institution by developing many portals such as the chemistry portal, portal to handle hazardous materials, IRINS, etc. and has played a vital role in the digitisation of theses and university records. He has been a Commonwealth Fellow twice in the years 2012 and 2017 at the University of East London, London, UK. His undisputed expertise in IT has benefitted not only Panjab University but also many other libraries in the northern region.
