Recognizing the pressing need for a policy change towards a more sustainable agriculture Model for Punjab, Kheti Virasat Mission is organizing two day dialogue titled as ‘Kudrate Utsav Evem Samvaad’, which will address the issues related to safe food & water, soil and human health, Biodiversity & organic farming, said Umendra Dutt its Executive Director.
The panel of experts include, Shri Devinder Sharma (food policy expert), Shri Pawan Gupta (writer, educator), Dr. Amar Singh Azaad (MBBS, MD) and Dr. Khadar Vali (Millet expert).
The program will be inaugurated on 2nd of April at 10 am by the Hon’ble speaker of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha, Kultar Singh Sandhwan at the Punjab Municipal Bhavan, sector 35 A, Chandigarh.
KVM hopes that the outcome of this dialogue will be an action plan for a green Punjab where the food is safe, the water is pure and the air clean.
As we are also celebrating the revival of Millets in Punjab, this event will also host prominent chefs from all over India, conducting free cookery sessions specializing in making Millet dishes.
The program will also see various stalls by organic farmers selling their produce. An exhibition area is also set up where the public can see the journey of Kheti Virasat Mission and its Commitment to the organic movement.
Dr Khadar Vali, known as the “Millet Man of India”, will also be speaking about the role of Millet diet to cure various diseases. Umendra Dutt, Executive Director, KVM firmly believes that a revival of this miracle grain will have a positive impact on the soil, health and water crisis faced by Punjab.

Kheti Virasat Mission (KVM) has been at the forefront of the organic farming movement in Punjab. For the past 16 years, KVM has envisioned and executed a diverse set of projects in the fields of safe food, holistic health & revival of Millets. On the Eve of the upcoming elections in Punjab in March 2022, KVM had organized a series of webinars & came up with a ‘Green Agenda’ for the state where a comprehensive road map was given for Punjab. This event is the
culmination of that series where experts will come together and publicly discuss the green agenda in detail.
