PUNJAB CM ANNOUNCES EX-GRATIA OF Rs. 50 LAKH & JOB FOR A FAMILY MEMBER OF MARTYR NAIB SUBEDAR RAJWINDER SINGH

Chandigarh, August 30:

The Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Sunday announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 50 lakh, along with a government job to a family member of Naib Subedar Rajwinder Singh of 1 Sikh Light Infantry unit. The soldier was seriously injured as a result of the unprovoked firing by Pakistan Army in Nowshera sector in District Rajouri (J&K) and succumbed to his injuries.

Paying homage to the martyr and extending his sympathy to the bereaved family, the Chief Minister said that Naib Subedar Rajwinder Singh was a brave, and highly motivated soldier. The nation will always remain indebted to him for his supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty.

Naib Subedar Rajwinder Singh, whose Father Late Havildar Jagir Singh also served in the army, hailed from Village Goindwal, Tehsil Khadoor Sahib of Tarn Taran district and is survived by his Mother, Wife Manpreet Kaur, Son Jobanjeet Singh aged 16 years and Daughter Pawanpreet aged 15 years.
