Punjab Government decides to provide plasma to private hospital from its Plasma Bank

Chandigarh, July 26

Continuing the campaign being carried out to Combat COVID-19 under Mission Fateh, the Punjab Government has decided today to provide plasma to Private Hospitals from government’s Plasma Bank at reasonable cost.

Informing this here today, spokesperson of the Department of Medical Education and Research said that private hospitals treating COVID-19 patients were demanding to provide plasma from the day of establisment of plasma bank. After deliberation with experts of the field, the state government has decided to provide plasma to these private hospitals at a cost of Rs. 20,000 per unit.

The spokesperson also clarified that plasma would be made available free of cost to the patients undergoing treatment in the government hospitals of Punjab.

Pertinently mention that the first Plasma Bank of Punjab was inaugurated online by Mr. OP Soni, Minister for Medical Education and Research on July 21, 2020.
