Today, the quarterly meeting of District Legal Services Authority Rupnagar was held under the stewardship of District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority, Rupnagar Mrs. Ramesh Kumari, in which the work from October 2023 to December 2023 was discussed.
Mrs. Ramesh Kumari, District & Sessions Judge, Rupnagar said that during this quarter, a total of 92 persons were given free legal aid, in which 46 women, 25 scheduled castes, 41 undertrails and 17 poor persons were provided free legal aid and a total of 4210 cases were disposed of by the Permanent Lok Adalat (PUS), Rupnagar. A total of 8465 cases were disposed of in the National Lok Adalat and awards of Rs. 153768608/- were passed. During this period, a total of 163 seminars were held to sensitize the people by the District Legal Services Authority, Rupnagar about the various facilities being provided.
On this occasion, CJM-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Rupnagar said that women, children, Scheduled Castes, Industrial workers and the persons whose income is less than 3 Lac are entitled for free legal aid.
On this occasion, Additional District and Sessions Judge Sh. Sanjay Agnihotri, Pooja Grewal Syal Additional Deputy Commissioner, Rupnagar, Mrs. Himanshi Galhotra, CJM-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority Rupnagar, Ashish Kumar Thathai, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Rupnagar, Tarlochan Singh Deputy Superintendent of Police (R) Rupnagar, Shri Rakesh Goyal District Attorney, Sh. Mandeep Modgill President District Bar Counsel Rupnagar were present.
