Ropar Wildlife Division organizes a Virtual Seminar and Competitions on ‘Ecosystem Restoration’

Rupnagar: 03 June 2021 On the occasion of World Environment Day, Ropar Wildlife Division, Department of Forests and Wildlife Preservation, Punjab is organizing a virtual seminar on the theme of ‘Ecosystem Restoration’ on 5th June 21. By the name of ‘Environ-mend day’, the webinar is focussed on the ways and efforts to amend the environment for the betterment of living beings as well as environment as a whole. The webinar will be enriched with nationally recognized speakers who will share their experiences and knowledge with the public on the topic.
Dr Monika Yadav, IFS, DFO, Ropar said that the pandemic has taught us a lot about the importance of healthy & sustainable environment and made us realise that we are not in the position to rely on the natural resources as we are depleting them on regular basis. Thus, it becomes highly imperative that we gather the knowledge from the experts in the field to become future-ready by understanding what all can be done to save the planet and precious lives in future.
To sensitize & involve the students, various competitions have been held wherein the children aged between 6 years to 14 years can participate in story making competition (max 200 words), video making competition (max 1 minute) and poster making competition (A4 size) on the topic ‘Ecosystem Restoration’ and can send their entries at [email protected] by 11 AM on 5th June 21. Participants will be given participation certificates and winners will awarded.
