Punjab Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu today approved the 16 proposals submitted by several city NGO’s and a financial Grant of Rs 35 lakh was sanctioned.

This grant has been sanctioned to NGOs Aas-Ehsaas for awareness on Women Rights, Asha Chinh Welfare Society for financial Assistance for Professional Education for Under Privileged Youth, Do Good Foundation for Smart School and Computer Education In Slums, Dr Pandhi’s Small Ideas, Great Ideas for Consumer Rights Awareness Drive and Solving Customer Problems, Ek Noor Sewa Kendra for Kitchen Equipment for Neki Ki Rasoi serving free food, HELPING HANDS Club for digitization of Library Books and Smart Classes for Underprivileged, Initiators of Change for renovation and Up-liftment of Rural Schools, Jeet Foundation Self Help Group Society NGO for Sewing Machines for Stitching Center and Smart TV, Jugnu Club for making Handicrafts from Waste Wood, Lets Clean Ludhiana Foundation for Waste Segregation Awareness Drive, Ludhiana Peddlers Club for Cycle Rally for Promotion of Cycling, Nishkam Vidya Mandir for financial Assistance for School of 750 Under Privileged Children, Quest Infosys Foundation for online Test For Scholarship to Under Privileged For Professional Courses, Rehras Sewa Society for software for Blood Donation, Samvedna Foundation for Renovation of Juvenile Center by Setting Up Smart School and Indoor Sports Center and Women Next Door for awareness On Menstrual Hygiene.
MC Councillor Mamta Ashu interacted individually with all 16 NGOs present there and understood their projects in detail. She also assured of any additional support these NGOs may require in future.
These NGOs are making full utilization of technology and social media for increasing the impact of their operations in respective sectors such as awareness using digital content, free courses, smart TV, Smart Schools in Slums and to underprivileged community, online crowd funding, online utilization reports etc
