(Sukhbir S Badal says party ready to answer each and every query of farmer orgs at place of their choosing)
(Denies having said anything against the Kisan Sangharsh. Says his statement aimed at Cong and AAP workers who were masquerading as farmers to disrupt SAD functions)
(Says this is part of a conspiracy hatched by central agencies who were working overtime with support of Cong and AAP to impose President’s Rule as per design of BJP)
Chandigarh, September 3 2021 The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today announced a six-day rescheduling of its “Gal Punjab di Lok Lehar” to answer each and every query of farmer organizations at the place of their choosing to ensure the peace of Punjab was not disturbed at any cost. The campaign will resume on September 11 from Amloh.
Speaking after a meeting of the party’s core committee, SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal denied he had said anything against the Kisan Sangharsh. “I hold the Kisan Sangharsh in utmost esteem. The SAD has backed all calls given by the Samyukt Morcha. My statement was aimed at Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers who masqueraded as farmers to incite violence in SAD functions during the past one week. We feel the Samyukt Morcha is alive to these facts and will also clarify that the protests were conducted by Congress and AAP workers. We on our part have proof of this and have already released lists with names of these workers and will be releasing detailed lists in the concerned districts in the coming days to expose this nefarious conspiracy”.
Asserting that the SAD had taken this decision in the interest of Punjabis, Mr Sukhbir Badal said “we don’t want brother to be pitted against brother. We do not want Punjabis to fall prey to the conspiracy hatched by anti-farmer forces who have colluded with central agencies to vitiate the atmosphere of peace and communal harmony and lay the ground of imposition of President’s Rule in Punjab. These anti-Punjab forces have the active support of the Congress and AAP parties and are being encouraged by the BJP which is in favour of imposition of President’s Rule in the State”.
Asserting that he would lay down his life rather than let Punjab go back to the dark days, Mr Badal said “Punjab went back by decades earlier. Now again efforts are being made to create unrest in the State. These forces want to scuttle the impending mandate of the people of Punjab by creating conditions of unrest and instability. He said the BJP was behind all these conspiracies as it too wanted to repeat the 1992 scenario and manipulate its way to power through a fake mandate.
Mr Badal also condemned the manner in which the Punjab Police was being used by chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh to spoil the peace in the State. He said the police force was being misused by the Congress party to fulfill its political objectives which would cost Punjab and Punjabis dearly in days to come.
Mr Badal also detailed how the SAD had always stood with farmers and always worked as per sentiments of the farming community. “The Gal Punjab Di campaign is nothing but a movement to listen to grievances of farmers, khet mazdoor, youth and weaker sections of society in order to prepare a plan to ameliorate their lot. The Congress and AAP have got jittery due to the success of the campaign and this is why they are doing their utmost to derail it. They have even formed teams for this purpose”.
The SAD President also detailed how the Congress government had worked to introduce provisions of the three hated agriculture acts by amending the APMC Act as per its election manifesto. “Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was among to first to implement the farm laws in Delhi”. He also announced that the SAD was committed to wage a struggle to ensure repeal of the three black laws and would not implement them in the State post formation of its government in 2022.
Senior leaders Jathedar Tota Singh and Sharanjit Singh Dhillon released a list of Congress and AAP activists who had disturbed SAD functions recently in the garb of farmers. Others present on the occasion included Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Maheshinder Singh Grewal, Bikram Singh Majithia,Gulzar Singh Ranike, Dr Upinderjit Kaur, Janmeja Singh Sekhon, Dr Daljit Singh Cheema,Hira Singh Gabria,Surjit Singh Rakhra & Baldev Mann
