SAD President talks to Virk on phone, wishes him speedy recovery
Sukhbir Badal also announces to bear treatment cost of Virk

A high level delegation of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), which was stopped from proceeding to Lakhimpur Kheri by the Uttar Pradesh government, today met Kisan leader Tejinder Singh Virk at a private hospital in Gurgaon today.
Apart from Prof. Chandumajra, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) President and National Spokesman of the SAD Manjinder Singh Sirsa was also part of delegation.
The delegation, led by Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra, had been given the responsibility to reach out to the victim farmer families at Lakhimpur Khiri by SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal yesterday. The delegation was however stopped from proceeding to Lakhimpur Khiri at Ghaziabad itself.
Giving details, Prof Chandumajra said he had established telephonic contact with farm leaders at Lakhimpur Khiri as well as the affected families and assured them complete support on behalf of the SAD. “We are also ready to extend legal aid to the victim families as well as those who were injured when the union minister’s son plowed through peacefully protesting farmers at Lakhimpur Khiri two days back”.
Prof. Chandumajra and Mr. Sirsa disclosed that target of attack at farmers at Lakhimpur Khiri was Tejinder Singh Virk, who is popular farmer leader of Tarai region of UP and is also a member of Samyukat Kisan Morcha (SKM). They said that he was dragged upto 20 metres by SUV and was seriously injured. They said that a successful 4 hour operation has been performed and he is now on path of recovery.
Meanwhile SAD President Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal also talked to Virk on phone and wished him speedy recovery. He also announced that DSGMC, SGPC and SAD will bear cost of treatment of Virk as he is fighting a National battle.
Tejinder Singh Virk also appealed his supporters to maintain peace and remain united in this fight which he said we will win for sure.
