Chandigarh, December 25:
The SAD president on Monday announced to establish party units in all States having Sikh population.
He declared this after holding a meeting with members of the Sikh Sangat of Sri Patna Sahib (Bihar) and Mumbai (Maharashtra) at the party’s Delhi State unit president S Paramjit Singh Sarna’s residence. He announced that a SAD Committee would be despatched to Sri Patna Sahib on December 30th for this purpose. He said the committee would not only hold meetings with the local Sikh Sangat there but also make necessary arrangements for the establishment of the unit.
“After Patna Sahib, the committee will visit other States from where the demand is coming,” said S Badal.
Answering a media query, the SAD president said this was part of a process to effect Panthic unity in the Sikh quom. “The community is facing various challenges and the resolution of all can only be achieved we all get united under the flag of the Panth – that of the Shiromani Akali Dal.”
