Sandeep Singh conducts surprise inspection of Nehru Stadium
Chandigarh, December 14 – Haryana, Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sandeep Singh conducted a surprise inspection of Nehru Stadium in Gurugram today.
Sharing more details in this regard the Sports Minister said that eight sports coaches were not present on duty during the inspection. He said that strict action will be taken against all the coaches who were not present on duty. He said that there should be no compromise on the practice of players.
The Sports Minister was in Gurugram today to be a part of an event. First, he visited the stadium and inspected it. On inspecting the Hockey Astro Turf the Sports Minister found it to be in a poor condition. He was told that this Astro Turf was set up in the year 2004. The Sports Minister said that the Sports Department will renovate it soon and provide best facilities to the players. The Sports Minister also gave health related tips to the players he came across during the inspection. He said that the government is preparing a new Sports Policy to facilitate players soon. Under the guidance of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal, the old Sports Policy will be changed and new provisions will be included for the benefit of the players.
