Sant Sammelan organised to commemorate the International Gita Mahotsava-2020
Chandigarh, December 24- Haryana Kurukshetra Development Board organized a Sant Sammelan at the Shrimad Bhagwad Gita Auditorium in Kurukshetra University to commemorate the International Gita Mahotsava -2020.
On this occasion, Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Mr. Rattan Lal Kataria was the chief guest. Earlier in the Sant Sammelan, Chairman of Haryana Public Enterprises and former BJP President, Mr. Subhash Barala welcomed the guests and said that the International Gita Mahotsava commenced under the leadership of Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal.
Presiding over the Sant Sammelan, Junapeethadeeshwar Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Avadeshanand Maharaj said that the religious scripture of Gita gives meaning to life. The Gita takes one away from ignorance and every person should imbibe the divine message of Gita in their life, he added. The divine message of Gita is spread all over the world and it keeps negative thoughts at bay. He said that we should pay respect to the sacred texts.
Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand ji Maharaj welcomed the Sants and said that on Friday it is Maharishi Shukla Ekadashi, the day Lord Krishna delivered the celestial message of Gita. He said that earlier for many years the Gita Mahotsava used to be celebrated in Kurukshetra, but for the last six years the Gita Mahotsava is being celebrated at the International level as International Gita Mahotsava. He also introduced all the sants who were present there.
Yoga Guru Swami Ramdev said that we all are children of one God and our religion and culture believes that we all are alike. He further said that god gives us the strength to work so one should keep doing karma and not worry about the outcome.
On this occasion, the Governor’s Secretary and KDB Member Secretary, G. Anupama, Deputy Commissioner, Sharandeep Kaur Brar, KUK VC, Somnath Sachdeva, Haryana Yoga Council, Chairman, Dr. Jaideep Arya, and several other dignitaries were present.
