SASCM Rollout: DC Bandipora hands over sanction orders to 12 beneficiaries
BANDIPORA, JUNE 30: As Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha on Wednesday rolled out the Special Assistance Scheme for Covid Mortalities (SASCM) today, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora handed over the sanction orders of assistance to 12 beneficiaries in the district.
Under the SASCM scheme, cash assistance of Rs 1000 per month shall be provided to spouse and the eldest member of the family.
Six beneficiaries were given an educational assistance (scholarships) while six beneficiaries will get a monthly pension of Rs 1000 per month from the month their sole bread earner died of covid19.
Out of six scholarships, 5 college going students were given sanction orders for Rs 40000 as annual scholarship while a school going student shall receive Rs 20000 as annual assistance.
On the occasion DC Bandipora said on the directions of lieutenant Governor, a Special Assistance and Guidance Cell for Covid affected families in have been constituted to identify and track support to these covid affected families over time in the spirit of leaving no one behind.
The team shall comprise of Additional Deputy Commissioner, District Social Welfare Officer, District Epidemiologist and ARA to Deputy Commissioner. He said the will ensure round-the-clock support and shall assist such families whenever needed.
Dr Owais said the SASCM scheme provides for a scholarship of Rs 20,000 per annum for school-going students and Rs 40,000 per annum for college-going students.
He said administration will reach out to every affected family with financial assistance if they are willing to start their own business or other venture for self-employment.
