KARGIL, JANUARY 20, 2022: Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zanskar, Sonam Dorjay on Wednesday chaired a meeting in view of snowfall and to avoid any kind of untoward incident on Zanskar-Kargil highway (301) and constituted a committee for the purpose.
After a detailed discussion, it was decided that the vehicles will be allowed to move from TCP Skyagam at 10:00 a.m. as per the cut-off timing is scheduled.
All the vehicles traveling towards Kargil shall reach TCP Skyagam before 10:00 a.m. and shall be allowed to move in a convoy escorted by snow clearance machine of NHIDCL till they cross Pensila Pass.
A committee comprising representatives of the Revenue Department, Ladakh Police and Manager Site Office Chibra, NHIDCL was also constituted to monitor the vehicular movement on the highway during winter months to avoid any kind of eventuality.
The meeting was informed that the vehicle movement on NH 301 is alternate and one-way traffic will be allowed to move on the road.
