Section 144 

The District Magistrate, North Goa in order to contain further spread of Corona Virus during festivities has been done under sub section (1) of section 144 of Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 and asked that public celebration and gatherings, congregations during coming festivals like Holi, Shabe Barat, Easter and Eid-ul-fitr etc, shall not be allowed in public places/public grounds/public parks/market etc. in the State of Goa. Any person going against this order shall be punishable under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
