Instructions to increase the number of doctors and nurses in the emergency ward

In view of increasing cases of dengue fever, a separate 50 bedded ward has been set up in District Hospital Mohali. This was divulged by Director, National Health Mission Punjab, I.A S.  Mr. Kumar Rahul and Civil Surgeon Dr. Adarshpal kaur after they visited different wards and interacted with the patients in the hospital today.
Mr Rahul said that a special 50 bedded ward has been set up on the fourth floor of the hospital for the confirmed and suspected dengue patients where they will be given free of cost treatment. In addition the number of beds with mosquito nets has been increased to 30. Dr Adarshpal informed that in view of the increasing number of patients in the emergency ward, it has been directed to deploy more doctors and nurses and keep the wheelchairs in the right place besides increasing their number.
She said that any shortcoming in the management of the hospital would not be tolerated and better and quality health care facilities would be provided to the patients. They also appealed to the people to take all necessary precautions to prevent dengue fever and not to allow standing water anywhere in and around their homes. SMO Dr Vijay Bhagat and Dr. HS Cheema and other officers were also present on the occasion.
