Several programmes organised across the state today on the birth anniversary of Saint Shiromani Guru Ravidas ji
Chandigarh, February 27- On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Saint Shiromani Guru Ravidas ji, several programmes were organised across the state today in which various dignitaries, including ministers of Haryana paid homage to Guru Ravidas Ji and enlightened the people of the state about his teachings.
In the celebrations held in Faridabad, Haryana Transport Minister, Mool Chand Sharma said that saints have inborn devotion, not for a particular class but for public welfare and world peace and we all must follow the path shown by them.
Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister, Jai Prakash Dalal said that Saint Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji gave the message of egalitarian society. He was against any kind of discrimination in humans and used to strongly oppose caste system and exploitation, he added.
In Karnal, Cooperation Minister, Banwari Lal announced an amount of Rs 11 lakh for Ambedkar Bhavan and said that saints and their teachings are not for any particular caste, but for the entire humanity. About 650 years ago, the Saint Shiromani Guru Ravidas gave a message of harmony to a society divided in caste and poverty and it is still relevant today.
In Narnaul, the Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Om Prakash Yadav said that Saint Shiromani Guru Ravidas gave the message of unity and brotherhood. We all should imbibe his message, he added.
In Rajaund town of Kaithal district, the Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Kamlesh Dhanda said that Saint Shiromani Guru Ravidas spread the message of harmony among mankind to overcome social evils.
In Hisar, Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Anoop Dhanak said that the teachings given by Guru Ravidas ji are the right way of living for the people of the society. He offered floral tributes on the picture of Sant Ravidas ji and also informed about the welfare announcements made by Chief Minister Sh. Manohar Lal.
In the programme organised in Kurukshetra, Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sandeep Singh said that Saint Shiromani Guru Ravidas ji is counted among great saints across the world and translations of his speech are found in various languages of the world.
In Fatehabad, Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Ranbir Gangwa paid tributes to the statue of Sant Ravidas ji and lit the traditional lamp. He also announced Rs 11 lakh for a Hall in Ravidas Dharamshala and other developmental works.
