Six scientists of Maharshi Dayanand University included in the list of Top Scientists of the World List
Chandigarh, December 30: Six scientists- faculty members of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) have been included in the list of Top Scientists of the World List curated by the experts of Stanford University (USA) and published in the reputed global journal PLOS Biology. This achievement is considered an important milestone in the field of academic and research excellence of the university.
Giving further information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that Dr. Sarvajeet Singh Gill from Centre for Bio- technology, Professor Emeritus Dr. CS Pundir from Department of Bio- Chemistry, Professor Pratyush Shukla Department of Microbiology, Professor B. Narsimhan from Department of Pharmaceutical Science, Alumnus, Department of Genetics, Mr. Vikas, and MDU Alumnus and formerly Assistant Professor, Department of Microbiology Dr. Bijender Singh have been included in the Top Scientist List.
He said that notably, the list has been prepared on the basis of standardized citation indications, including number of citations. H- Index, Co- authorship and a composite indicator. This world list has 1,59,683 scientists from all over the world including 1492 Indians, he added.
MDU Vice Chancellor Professor Rajbir Singh, Dean, Academic Affairs Professor AK Rajan, and Director (Research), Professor A K Chillar have congratulated all the scientists for this sterling achievement.
Professor Rajbir Singh said that MDU is providing a robust research eco- system in the University so that faculty members and research scholars do quality research, and contribute meaningfully to the society and nation through their research work.
