Chandigarh September 23 – Minister of State for Statistics and Programme Implementation, Mr. Rao Inderjit Singh said that some people are misleading farmers regarding Agriculture Bills. He said that the government is trying its best to make the farmers understand that the   present arrangement of procuring crops on Minimum Support Price (MSP) will not be discontinued at any cost.

The Minister said this today while paying tribute to the statue of Rao Tula Ram, great freedom fighter of the first freedom struggle, on the occasion of ‘Haryana Veer Evm Shaheedi Diwas’  in Rewari at Rao Tula Ram Park. The Minister said that those who are falling prey to misunderstandings created regarding agriculture bills will also understood that these bills are in their favour only.

Recalling the martyrdom of Rao Tula Ram, he said that martyrs are not only for one particular caste but are an inspiration for all. Taking inspiration from their sacrifices, we should come forward to serve the country. Brave martyrs are always a source of inspiration for us and we should maintain the tradition of love and brotherhood by following the footsteps, said that Minister.

The Minister said that Haryana has been the land of warriors, patriots and warriors since ancient times. The history of Haryana is full of sacrifices made by brave freedom fighters. If we look at the military tradition of this state, then we get to know that after country’s independence, the story of the valor of the heroes of this small state in the wars of 1962, 1965 and 1971 is indescribable. I pay homage to all known and unknown martyrs, because of whose supreme sacrifices we are breathing freely today, said the Minister.

Rao Tula Ram made a significant contribution in the first freedom struggle of 1857 fought for the country, due to which people of Haryana celebrate September 23 as  ‘Shaheedi Diwas’.

The Minister said that from last six months, COVID-19 outbreak is ongoing, usually some programmes are organized on the ‘Shaheedi Diwas’ but due to COVID-19 outbreak, no big programme has been organized so as to ensure that virus  spread is contained. The Minister also paid rich tributes to those martyrs who had scarified their lives in the wars fought since independence.

Co-operation Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal also paid tributes to the statue of Rao Tularam. On this occasion, Dr. Banwari Lal said that martyrs are a source of inspiration for all of us and we should maintain the tradition of patriotism and brotherhood, while walking on their footsteps.

On this occasion, Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Mr. Om Prakash Yadav also reached Rewari and paid obeisance at the statue of Shaheed Rao Tula Ram and said that the martyrs will always remain a source of inspiration for us.
