In view of spurt in dengue cases in Punjab, Deputy Chief Minister Om Parkash Soni has deputed Senior Officials of Health Department to supervise and monitor all districts.

The officials are to visit districts allotted to them at least twice a week and review steps taken for prevention and management of dengue.
As per the orders Kumar Rahul, IAS, MD- NHM is to visit SAS Nagar, Fathegarh Sahib, Ropar and SBS Nagar (at least once a week) Amit Kumar, IAS, MD- PHSC is also to visit at least once a week to Patiala, Sangrur, Barnala and Mansa, Dr. Andesh Kang, DHS is to go to Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Guardaspur, Pahtankot and Hoshiapur, Dr. O.P. Gojra, DHS(FW) to Ludhiana, Moga, Faridkot, Bathinda and Malerkotla and Dr. G.B. Singh, DHS (SI) is to visit Muktsar, Fazilka, Ferozpur, Kapurthala and Jalandhar
The officers will undertake extensive tour of the state to inspect district hospitals for next four days and submit report for steps taken to prevent the spread of Dengue.
Similarly, five Deputy Directors of the Department of Health will also visit the aforementioned districts twice a week and submit and submit their observations for effective prevention and management of dengue. Dr. Bhupinder Kaur is to visit to SAS Nagar, Fathegarh Sahib, Ropar and SBS Nagar, Dr. Baljit Kaur to Patiala, Sangrur, Barnala and Mansa Dr. Nisha Sahi to Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Guardaspur, Pahtankot and Hoshiapur , Dr. Veena Jarewal to Ludhiana, Moga, Faridkot, Bathinda and Malerkotla while Deputy Director Dr. Raju Dhir is to inspect Muktsar, Fazilka, Ferozpur, Kapurthala and Jalandhar .
