Recovery rate touches 93.05%, positivity rate on constant decline
KATHUA, JUNE 02, 2021: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rahul Yadav today said that the district administration is laying special focus on Vaccination and enforcement of Covid Appropriate Behaviours to defeat Covid-19.
He was briefing media persons on prevailing Covid situation in the district here at DC Office complex
Rahul Yadav said the Covid situation has considerably improved in the district in the past few days. “At present there are a total 480 positive cases in Kathua district, of which 69 are in different Covid Hospitals, 37 in Covid Care Centres and over 350 under Home Isolation” he added.
The recovery rate has gone up to 93.05% and the daily positivity rate has dipped to below 50 persons in the last few days, which shows that the spread rate is declining in the district, he added.
Briefing about covid specific health care, the DC informed that during the lockdown a total 1739 persons availed online consultation from specialist Doctors of GMC Kathua through Telemedicine services. He said with the activation of Tele consultation services the footfall of people in Hospitals decreased considerably, especially during Corona Curfew.
“Rural Covid Care Centres have been established in all 257 Panchayats of the district of which 52 have been equipped with at least One Oxygenated Bed,” he informed further.
While informing about vaccination, the DC said 73.48% 45+ year persons have been vaccinated and efforts are being made to speed up the inoculation drive in Bani and Billawar areas, which have recorded low Vaccination rate. He said more medical teams and vaccination sites have been created to foster vaccination in less covered areas.
He said the special vaccination drive for priority groups of 18-44 yr category has been intensified in the past few days and urged the people to come forward and get vaccinated, which is only protection against coronavirus.
The DC said the administration has relaxed the lockdown and issued day wise roaster for opening of shops on rational basis to prevent crowding in the markets.
He appealed to the people not to venture out unnecessarily after partial-unlock and adopt Covid Appropriate Behaviour, whenever they come out of their homes for important work. He said people must adopt safe distancing, double Masking and maintaining hand Hygiene as new norms of living in Covid times.
