Training will be imparted to officers and employees for quick action
Chandigarh, August 26 :– A special seminar will be organized in Haryana to provide training to officers and employees of various departments to monitor the movement of narcotics and ensure speedy action at all levels in registered cases.
While giving directions in the meeting of Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau here today, Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal said that the Police, Health, Social Justice and Empowerment Departments should participate in this seminar to be organized by Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau, so that all the departments can take this programme ahead with mutual coordination. He said that the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) should be modernized so that the investigation process in FSL can be further expedited.
The State Drug Controller should monitor the supply and use of chemicals and other raw materials to make medicines
Sh. Kaushal said that the State Drug Controller should keep a strict vigil on the supply and use of chemicals and other raw material used for making medicines in the state. Separate monitoring committees should also be constituted for this. Apart from this, a portal should also be prepared on which monitoring committees can upload their reports.
SDM should visit de-addiction centres once in a month in their respective districts
The Chief Secretary said that the District Deputy Commissioner should review the district level committee after conducting a monthly meeting. He also directed to ensure to update the information and decisions of these meetings on the portal of Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau. He directed that the SDM should visit the drug de-addiction centres once in a month in their respective districts and take cognizance of the activities being carried out there and submit the report in the monthly meeting to be held at the district level. They also have to update their tour on Prayas application.
Accelerate the programme to make the students aware of the ill effects of drugs
Sh. Kaushal also directed that the Dhakad programme being run to make the youth aware about the harmful consequences of drugs should be conducted on a large scale. Seminars should also be organized in schools and colleges to apprise them about all the information related to this and positive results, so that the implementation of Dhakad programme can be accelerated. Apart from this, Dhakad teams should also be formed in the educational institutions. He said that seminars should also be organized from time to time to make all the stakeholders aware of the rules and regulations regarding the use of drones.

The Chief Secretary directed that the toll free number 9050891508 issued by the Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau should be displayed at all government offices, bus stands, railway stations and public establishments, so that the information related to smuggling or use of drugs by the general public should be immediately informed to the Bureau.
It was informed in the meeting that major crimes related to NDPS are being included in the category of identified crimes and are being monitored by the officers of the rank of Superintendent of Police or above. In addition, special scrutiny cells will also be set up for such cases.
Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Sh. T.V.S.N. Prasad, Director General of Police, Sh. P.K. Agrawal, ADGP, Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau, Shrikant Jadhav, Secretary, Personnel, Training, Vigilance and Parliamentary Affairs Department, Sh. Ashok Kumar Meena and other officers were present in the meeting.
