Chandigarh, August 29
Girdawari process to assess the crop damage caused by water logging in the state started from August 5 will continue till September 5, said Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Dushyant Chautala while addressing a public meeting in Rampura Dhillon village of Sirsa district, on Monday.
Farmers themselves can also upload their crop loss details on the portal. Compensation will be given for the loss of all crops in the field.
During this, on the demand made by the villagers regarding the village, the Deputy Chief Minister assured that “All the demands will be fulfilled as I will leave no stone upturned in giving the grant and will answer the demands”.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the government is completely serious about the damage caused to the fields due to water logging. He said that if the farmer suspects that his girdawari is not correct, then he should go to the Meri Fasal-Mera Byora portal and upload the photo of his crop loss on the compensation portal. Patwari will report the crop loss again.
Dushyant Chautala said that the state government is going to take a big step that in case of loss of houses of the poor due to rains, Rs. 80,000 will be given to them. For this the law will be amended so that the poor can get the benefits. To simplify this compensation process, the concerned Deputy Commissioner will be empowered so that the eligible person can get it at the earliest. He addressed in the meeting that earlier there was a provision of compensation only on the damage caused to the house during the floods and there was no provision of compensation for the damage to the room built on the tube-well in the field.
The Deputy Chief Minister concluded that “In three and a half years, we should take such steps, which will directly benefit the weaker sections. In one year’s time, we made provision for skilled employment. In skilled employment, the family whose income is less than Rs. 1.80 lakh will be given priority”.
