Chandigarh, August 28 2021 Farmer protesters blocked National Highway at Bastara tol plaza in Karnal today at 12:00 Pm and they started heading towards the city.
When the officers and the police force deployed there tried to stop them, some farmers turned voilent and attacked the police force with stones and sticks.
Acting over it, the police dispersed the protestors using mild force as per the rules.
According to the information received so far, 4 farmers and 10 police personnel have been injured.
In the agreement reached in Tohana on June 7, 2021, the Syanukt Kisan Morcha has assured in writing that they won’t turn violent during any protest in future.
But even after this, many times this agreement has been violated during the protest.
When such situation emerges, the police have to take steps to maintain law and order.
