The Department of Production & Industrial Engineering in collaboration with the Workshop and Skill Development Centre at Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, is delighted to accomplish one-week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) “Digital Transformation for IT Enabled Supply Chain: Importance and Applications (DTSCIA-24),” sponsored by AICTE-ATAL.
The FDP, which commenced on February 12, 2024, and concluded on February 17, 2024, attracted more than 40 enthusiastic participants from various institutions across the country. Renowned experts from esteemed institutes such as IITs, NITs, and Punjab University delivered insightful talks, focusing on the crucial role of digital transformation in the context of supply chain performance system.
The program aimed at exploring the concept of supply chain digitization and emphasized hands-on practice and research article writing skills. Sessions were designed to provide participants with practical insights into Industry 4.0 technologies, including IoT, AI, cloud computing, and big data, with the goal of revolutionizing supply chain management.
A special session on stress management in the workplace underscored the holistic approach of the FDP, addressing not only technical aspects but also the well-being of professionals in the evolving digital landscape.
The Valedictory session was concluded with vote of thanks by both Heads Prof. R.S Walia and Prof. R. M. Belokar to all participants, experts, and sponsors for their invaluable contributions. Prof Baldev Setia, Director PEC also congratulated the participant and collaborative efforts of the organizing team for successful completion of the FDP. Discussions were held on the future need for specialized areas of FDPs to keep pace with the rapidly evolving landscape of technology and industry.
The successful conclusion of DTSCIA-24 reaffirms the commitment of Punjab Engineering College to advancing knowledge, fostering collaboration, and preparing professionals for the challenges of the modern digital era.
