Zero tolerance policy against corruption: State Vigilance Bureau registered 8 enquiries and completed 9 enquiries during February

Chandigarh, November 20 – State Vigilance Bureau, Haryana has arrested a Deputy Secretary of Haryana Public Service Commission and two others involved in manipulating the marks of candidates who appeared in the written examination for recruitment of Dental Surgeons, conducted by the HPSC on 26th Sept 2021.

Following the registration of FIR on 17th Nov 2021, raid was conducted and one Naveen Kumar resident of district Bhiwani was caught red-handed while accepting cash amounting to Rs 20 Lakhs. He was produced before the Court on 18th Nov 21 and has been remanded to police custody for 4 days.

Based on his confession and other evidences obtained during investigation, the SVB officials have further arrested Ashwani Sharma resident of district Jhajjar and seized cash amounting to Rs. 1 crore 7 lakh 97 thousand during his house search. He confessed that this money was to be paid to Sh. Anil Nagar, HCS. He was made to contact Sh Anil Nagar, HCS while in custody and was asked by Sh Nagar to hand over the money to him in his office in HPSC.

Following further investigation, the SVB arrested Sh Anil Nagar, HCS, Deputy Secretary, Haryana Public Service Commission while accepting a bribe of more than Rs 1 crore from Ashwani Sharma in his office. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sh Anil Nagar, HCS.

Following the arrest of Sh Nagar, searches were conducted at his residence as well as the residence of one of his associates.

Cash amounting to Rs 2 crore 10 lakh belonging to Sh. Nagar has been seized from his associate who had kept the bribe money on his behalf.

Further, during the house search of Sh Anil Nagar, HCS, Rs 12 Lakh cash, a registered land deed amounting to Rs 50 Lakh, laptop and digital media have been seized.

Sh Anil Nagar, HCS is presently on a 4 day police remand. The total cash recovery in this case so far is Rs 3 crores 60 lakhs.

Further investigation in the case is underway to ascertain more details of the criminal conspiracy and bring all culprits to book.
