SUNDER SHAM ARORA DIRECTS TO PACE UP VACCINATION DRIVE FOR DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES

CHANDIGARH, APRIL 15: In order to effectively tackle the rise in Covid-19 cases, the Industries Minister Sundar Sham Arora has directed the department to speed up ongoing vaccination drive for all the employees under its various offices and corporations at the earliest.

Reaffirming state government commitment to safeguard lives of citizens, Arora said that government of Punjab has adopted a multi-prolonged and cross departmental approach to mitigate the pandemic crisis.

Pertinently, the department has organized special drives for the mass vaccination of industrial employees and workers in all the 22 districts of the state under which around two hundred employees of 45 years of age and above have already got vaccinated.

These special vaccination drives have been organised at Industrial focal points, industrial areas and the premises of large industrial undertakings across the state under which 53,905 industrial workers above the age of 45 years have got vaccinated in these drives, the Minister added.

Keeping in view the industrial development in the state and the extreme crisis of Covid pandemic, Sh. Alok Shekhar, Principal Secretary, Industries & Commerce, Punjab directed the officers and staff at DICs to vaccinate the staff and workers of industries in coordination with the Department of Health and Family welfare and Industrial associations.
