The farmers of the state are now leaving behind traditional farming, and adopting new technology while engaging in modern farming and intercropping. One of them is Sunil Patidar, a farmer of Amlawad village in Mandsaur district. Shri Patidar was not aware of modern farming methods. On contacting the Department of Agriculture, he was told that with the help of modern method, one can get more yield with less cost and less water.

After this, Shri Sunil received fountains from the Department of Agriculture for the use of modern farming methods. He also got subsidy from the Kisan Kalyan Yojana for the fountain. At present, he has installed fountains in the garlic crop in a total of 4 bighas. They say that the yield of garlic is high and large garlic is produced. Less water is used. Along with this, pests are also less in garlic, due to which medicines do not have to be sprayed. By doing this farming he got two benefits, first production increased and second cost was reduced.

Sunil also cultivates through drip irrigation. He has also got the benefit of drip irrigation through Kisan Kalyan Yojana. He has planted watermelons in a total of 2 bighas. Even in drip irrigation, very good farming can be done in less water. Sunil is very happy to get the benefit of the schemes of the government and thanks Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
