The end of a woman’s child bearing years is termed as menopause. A major identification of menopause is the end of menstrual cycles in women. It can be an overwhelming phase as women go through a number of physical and mental changes. Every woman experience different symptoms and it is normal. Here are some common symptoms which are generally experienced by all women:
1. Mood Swings: Around 43 per cent of women reported that they experienced several mood swings right after the menopause. They suddenly felt too happy and the next moment found themselves crying for no actual reason. They also stated it was out of their control and they mostly felt irritated with small things and experiences.
2. Depression: Another worst hit symptom of menopause is depression as it was reported by almost 37 per cent women. They lacked a sense of excitement and mostly felt upset. Some people even mentioned that they stopped socializing as it felt like a chore to them.
3. Night Sweats: were experienced by almost 58 per cent of women but only 16 per cent were adversely affected by it. They had trouble sleeping and woke up with a start at times. Night sweats made it difficult to sleep. It also messed up their sleep cycle.
4. Hot Flashes: It was another symptom experienced by almost all females. They reported to have felt a wave of heat passing through their body out of the blue. It was uncomfortable experience and affected their daily lives.
5. Restlessness: 37 per cent of women reported to be restless at the beginning of their menopause. They never felt at ease and had a nagging feeling. They also said it was hard to sit without fidgeting with an object lying in front of them at any time.
