Tacha Imambara Fire Incident: CEC Kargil visits affected villagers
KARGIL DECEMBER 23,2020: Following an incident of fire breaking out at the historic Imambara at Tacha village of Lotchum Block during the night on Monday, the Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan visited the affected villagers to console them and take on spot assessment of the damages from the tragic incident.
The 1 storeyed Imambara was completely damaged in the fire incident which resulted due to an electric short circuit.
Councillor Pashkum Kacho Feroz Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR), Kargil Shabir Hussain, Tehsildar Shargole Muhammad Hassan besides other concerned officers accompanied the CEC during the visit.
The CEC spent a fair amount of time with the affected villagers during his visit to them and also took a first-hand assessment of the damage that this tragic incident had caused in the village. He assured them that all possible assistance will be extended to them from the LAHDC, Kargil.
CEC Khan while expressing solidarity with the villagers assured them of all requisite measures for restoration of the damaged structure. He said that all concerned officers including the Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil and the officers of Revenue, PWD and other concerned officers have already been directed to undertake assessment of damages to the Imambara building due to the tragic fire incident.
The CEC further assured the villagers that he will personally pursue the matter for restoration of the historic structure in line with its traditional design and parameters with the concerned departments, adding that the concerned officers have been instructed to seek due consultation of the villagers before finalizing the proposal for its restoration.
CEC Khan lauded the concerned departments including the Fire and Emergency Services, Revenue, Police, other concerned departments and their officers and officials besides the youth and elders of Tacha village for their prompt action which resulted in preventing further damage that the incident could have lead to in the area. He also hailed the religious organizations Anjuman e Jamiatul Ulema Isna Ashariya, Kargil (AJUIAK) and Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust (IKMT) Kargil for extending their moral support and help to the villagers in this time of distress.
Meanwhile, on the demand of the Councillor Pashkum and the villagers for construction of a community hall in the area , the CEC assured that the concerned departments will be directed to prepare a project in this regard so that the proposal is projected in SDP or any other relevant scheme.
