Speaking on the occasion of musical evening ‘Pipple Pattiyan’ at Ishmit Singh Music Institute, Ludhiana, Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill, Chairman, Punjabi Lok Virasat Academy said that it’s only this divine combination of Sur- Shabad music that helps us to cultivate our wandering and distracted mind for our focused attention to lead a good life.

He said that his literary work has been given new meaning by the talented students and staff of Ishmit Institute. Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill said that the Mother’s Day celebrations indeed became very memorable one with the performance of this musical event ‘Pipple  Pattiyan’. He said that mothers never die. Even after their mortal death, they remain with us always because the death of her body is not the death of a mother. With death, only a mortal wardrobe is changed,but mother’s soul remains in her children to bless them always.

Earlier, Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill, Jagdishpal Singh Grewal, Sarpanch  Village Daad, Sikander Singh Grewal, Dr. Charan Kamal Singh who is  Director of  Ishmit Institute, Trailochan lochi, Balkar Singh, Maninder Singh Gogia, Director, Ojas Creations, Shelly Wadhwa and others paid homage at  Ishmit Singh’s portrait.

Welcoming the audience, Dr. Charan Kamal Singh,  said that Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill who is not only  a renowned poet but also a member of the Board of Governors of the Institute. He said that Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill’s beautiful poetical songs anthology  ‘Pipple Pattiyan’ reflects the various tastes  and twists of Punjabiyat which we we all value.

He said that melodious singing of Gurbhajan Gill’s poetry from his book Pipple Pattiyan by students Divanshu, Daman, Shalu , Rashi and teachers Nazima Bali, Sahibjit Singh, Kanwarjit Singh, Deepak Khosla of Ishmit Singh Music Institute and guest artist Dr. Sharanjit Kaur Parmar testifies that their tunes(Sur ) were in eager wait of such  Shabad-poetry. In fact,in the initiation of the program, a song written by Gurbhajan Gill-‘Darriyan te pawaan gughiyan,mor ve pardesia’  beautifully sung by a  serious folk singer Gagandeep Cheema became inspiration for other singers.

On this occession, Mr. Jaspal Singh Gill, ADC Khanna (Retd.),Mr. Prabhdeep Singh Nathowal DPRO Moga ,eminent Poet Trilochan Lochi, Dr.  Amarjit Kaur( PAU) Mr. Y,ash Pal Sachdeva (PAU), renowned Photo Artist Dr. Tej Partap Singh Sandhu,Dr. Man Singh Toor, Harpal Singh Mangat, Shailly Wadhwa, musician Mohini Parmar and Maninder Singh from Ojas Creation especially marked their presence. Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Nazima Bali, Dean, Ishmit Music Institute, who compeered the stage said that it was the writers who are desirable for building the healthy thinking of the society. We will continue to hold such events on behalf of this organization to awaken society for respecting  sense of artistic subtleness through such literary pursuits.

Dr. Charan Kamal Singh expressed happiness that the singers of Ishmit Singh Music Institute have been fortunate enough to sing the writings of Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill on the occasion of World Mother’s Day. This will enable the music industry to make the necessary contribution for the smooth development of the society.

In an informal chat later, Gurbhajan Singh Gill said that he was delighted to hear his ‘Tappaas, Songs and Ghazals’ having been sung here and he was impressed by the singing style of some of the matured and able singers. Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill said that the music sector is expected further In sowing such thoughtful and creative seeds which grow to give us a healthy society.
