Expressing heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family SDM Varjeet arjeet Walia said that the district administration was with family in this hour of grief. He said that at a very young age martyr Amardeep had lost his life while guarding the nation.
It is pertinent to mention here that 23 years old the poet Amardeep Singh son of Manjeet Singh Langhi lost his life in the Siachen Glacier on April 25 while on duty. Punjab government has announced Rs 50 lakh ex gratia compensation and job to the next of kin in the family.
Prominent among others present at the antim Ardas ceremony included Ravinder Singh superintendent district Defence Services Welfare Office Barnala, Captain Sukhpal Singh, 21 Punjab Regiment Havaldar Sukhpal Singh, Nayak Gurjant Singh, Subedar Sajjan Singh and Hawaldar Darshan Singh.
