Punjab Higher Education and Language Minister Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa has congratulated prominent Punjabi story writer Kirpal Kazak for winning Sahit Academy Award for his collection of stories ‘Antheen’ (endless), the short stories on the endless problems of in the life of common man.
The minister said that this award has not only brought personal pride for Kirpal Kazak but whole Punjabi dialect and Punjabi world are feeling proud this achievement.
Mr. Bajwa described Kirpal Kazak as a powerful and prolific story writer of Punjabi and through his stories; he has portrayed the lives of lower middle class people, highlighting their relationships, problems and feminine relationships.
Mr. Kazak has written memorable stories about the hard-working life of the poor hard working people with the psychological wisdom which he has acquired through his life experience. Apart from ‘Antheen’ Kazak has written ‘Paani di Kandh, Mitti da Madho, Doomna, and Jadan which are also very highly rated stories among the Punjabi literary world and are very popular among the readers.
The Minister said that Kazak not only worked hard in the literary field but he has also worked very hard in his personal life. Acknowledging his unparallel contribution in the field of Punjabi Literature, Punjabi University appointed him professor in literary studies ignoring the fact that he is not even a matriculate.
