University Institute of Legal Studies (UILS), Panjab University (PU) hosted the 4th Intra Trial Advocacy Competition 2024. The intricate art of trial advocacy was meticulously adjudicated by esteemed legal luminaries, Hon’ble Justice Pankaj Jain, judge Punjab & Haryana High Court; Prof. Nishtha Jaswal, VC, HPNLU; and Sr. Advocate Anu Chatrath. Justice Jain elaborated on the significance of a Trial moot and how essential it is to the grooming of young professional lawyers. He commended the efforts of UILS in this regard. Over 200 students participated in the competition which lasted over three days from 19th till 21st Jan. 2024.
The winners of the competition were Saksham Sharma, Arpita Malik, Pragati Thakur and Prasha Bhatia. The rounds were judged by eminent advocates from the region and this provided a great impetus to UILS. The event was held under the guidance of Prof. Shruti Bedi, Director, UILS, PU; Prof. Rajinder Kaur; and Prof. Pushpinder Kaur. The Organizing Committee was led by Ratik Chatrath Kapur (MCS Coordinator), Anupam Kakkar (Convenor), and Agastya Shukla (Co- Convenor), along with the invaluable contributions of Event Coordinators Manvi Gulati, Divyanshu Juneja, and Shruti Jangra, as well as the support of MCS Executive members and volunteers.
