Vaccination of one-third of the population covering children in the age group of 12 to 14 has also been done by the state, Chief Secretary
Chandigarh, April 25- Haryana while strictly adhering to guidelines issued by the Health Ministry related to enforcement of ‘COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviour’ has once again adopted proactive strategies to effectively combat the new surge in virus spread.
This was stated by Haryana Chief Secretary, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal while speaking during a meeting chaired by Union Home Secretary, Sh. Ajay Bhalla to review the COVID-19 situation and preparedness in Delhi NCR held here today.
Assuring the Union Home Secretary regarding timely and regular updating of the COVID-19 data on the portal, Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal said that the District Administration has been already directed for the same.
“Amid the recent surge in the number of infection cases, Haryana is doing several management preparations coupled with aggressive surveillance, stringent containment, swift contact tracing, focused clinical management along with proactive Information, Education and Communication (IEC) activities,” said Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal.
In the meeting which was held through video conferencing, Sh. Kaushal said that increased testing capacity, especially in Containment Zones along with aggressive efforts to reduce the positivity rate of COVID-19 is being done across the State.
He further informed that as in some of the districts, especially in Gurugram a significant jump in the positivity rate is seen, hence rampant strategies are being made for declaring micro containment zones alongwith increasing per day testing capacity. In this series, nine micro containment zones have already been declared in Gurugram to break the virus chain.
“Besides this, massive vaccination drives have already been run across Haryana. As per the official figures, around 72 percent of the population between the age group of 15 to 18 years has been administered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination, while vaccination of one-third of the population covering children in the age group of 12 to 14 years has also been done in the state”, shared Sh. Sanjeev Kaushal.
Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management and Consolidation Departments, Sh. P. K. Das, Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare Department, Sh. Rajeev Arora, Special Secretary, Health Department and Mission Director, National Health Mission, Haryana, Sh. Prabhjot Singh, Director General of Police, Sh. P K Agrawal and other senior officers also remained present on this occasion.
