Briefs media on Covid management in district
GANDERBAL, MAY 31, 2021; Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today briefed media about the Covid management and mitigation measures put in place by the district for combating the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
Giving details, the DC said that in ¾ of panchayats of the district the 5 bedded Covid Care Centre facility is established equipped with all requisite equipment and medical facilities and in remaining panchayats, the facility would be established by tomorrow as procurement of required equipments is already initiated.
While congratulating general public of Ganderbal for achieving the 100 percent vaccination target of all above 45 age group with at least the first dose of Covid-19 inoculation, she said that though 100 percent target is achieved but there might be some people above 45 years of age who may not have received first dose as population is moving phenomena and appealed them to get vaccinated at nearest site.
While elaborating on the importance of Isolation Facility in panchayats, the DC said that the people who are symptomatic and lack isolation facility at their homes they can be shifted and taken care in these centres to curb the spread of virus. She appealed people who have Covid related symptoms to visit these isolation centres to get medical advice to save themselves and family as well.
The DC informed that Vaccination drive for 18-44 years of age has begun today in the district on priority group basis and on priority, the shopkeepers including essential and non-essential shall be vaccinated first.
She said Four vaccination sites (BHSS Ganderbal, PHC Lar, PHC Wakura and SDH Kangan) are established within the district and urged the shopkeepers to visit these centers along with their staff to get vaccinated at the earliest.
While elaborating on the easing of Corona restrictions in the district, Jyotsna said order has been issued in this regard besides roaster regarding the opening of essential and non-essential shops is also issued and urged upon the people to follow the roaster in letter and spirit.
She maintained that though restrictions are eased but easing of Covid restrictions does not mean that pandemic is over adding that people should strictly follow the SOPs and stick to the precautionary measures and guidelines which is a best way to protect themselves from Covid infection.
