SHO seeking bribe arrested by Vigilance Bureau

Chandigarh, Feb 3 – Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has caught Inspector Jaiveer posted as SHO police station Cheeka on the charges of seeking bribe from a person seeking disposal of the complaint pending against him.

Sharing the details, a spokesperson of the Bureau informed that Chand Ram, a resident of Cheeka district Kaithal, filed a complaint against the accused police officer demanding bribe of Rs 5000 in lieu of disposing of a case, which is pending against him in Cheeka police station.

Acting on the complaint, a team of the Vigilance bureau conducted a raid and nabbed the police officer in the presence of duty magistrate and shadow witness.

A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act had been registered against the accused officer in the Bureau’s Ambala police station. A thorough investigation of the case is underway.
