After a 25-year-old Dalit man was brutally killed in broad public view at Saroornagar in Hyderabad by his wife’s brother in a case of suspected honor killing on May 4, the National Commission for Scheduled Caste (NCSC) Chairman Vijay Sampla visited the victim’s house on Saturday and met his family members.

Vijay Sampla visited village Marpalle in Vikarabad district of Telangana and expressed his deepest condolences to victim Nagaraju’s father B Srinivas, mother Anasuya, sister Ramadevi and wife Syed Ashrin Sultana.

Victim’s wife narrated the sequence of events to Sampla and said that her brother and his friends brutally stabbed Nagaraju with sharp knives.

After meeting the victim’s family, Sampla ordered the deputy commissioner of Vikarabad district to immediately release an amount of Rs 4 lakh 15 thousand to the family, out of the total compensation amount of Rs 8 lakh 25000 to be given to the victim’s family under SC Act.

Sampla further asked DC to ensure that the victim family is provided a house, three acres of agricultural land, a government job to victim’s wife. “The family should be provided a monthly pension of Rs 5000 and ration for three months, until the victim’s wife is provided a government job”, Sampla said.

After meeting the family, Sampla conducted a meeting with Chief Secretary & DGP of Telanganaand other authorities. He ordered the police to speed up the investigation and file case in the fast-track court. Sampla also asked the Civil administration to ensure an immediate release of the compensation to the family of the victim.
