Rejuvenation of Ponds is due to efforts made by government and the authority: Haryana Villagers
Chandigarh, April 30 :- The people of the state are appreciating the initiative taken by the Haryana Government and Haryana Pond and Waste Water Management Authority (HPWWMA) to make the ponds and other water bodies clean and fresh. So far, various water bodies have been renovated in the state which were in bad condition earlier. But after the renovation of ponds and water bodies, the conditions in the state have become more pleasant. People are seen enjoying walking around these water bodies in the morning and evening. These water bodies have now become the centre of attraction. The fresh water flowing in the water bodies is being used for fish rearing and for cattle and micro irrigation. Apart from this, the work of groundwater recharging is also being done in a big way.
Regarding the protection and promotion of water bodies, Sh. Rajinder Singh, a resident of Dhanauri village of Jind district said that clean and fresh water has been arranged in the village due to the formation of a model pond. He expressed gratitude for the renovation of water bodies in rural areas. He said that rejuvenation of water bodies and ponds is most essential for improving the ground water level.
Villagers of Kachhwa village of Kaithal said that for many years the water bodies located in their village were in bad condition and there was resentment among the people due to the filth collected in it. On the directions of the Chief Minister, these water bodies were identified and a grant was approved for the rejuvenation of water bodies.
In Nishandehi, water bodies were freed from the possession of the people. He said that water bodies have been greatly benefited by the rejuvenation. The women of the village go for a walk around the pond in the morning and evening. A paved path has also been constructed around the water bodies. Arrangements have also been made for increasing greenery by planting trees all around. He expressed gratitude to the Haryana government, especially the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal for this initiative.
On the other hand, Sumneet Kaur, former sarpanch of village Tepla of block Saha of Ambala said that the pond in the village was in a bad condition. The dirty water of the village disposed off into it, now with the initiative of Haryana Government, a filter system has been installed in it. The used water now reaches the pond after getting filtered. There is no dirt in the pond anymore. She said that this commendable move has been possible only due to the efforts of the Government and the Authority.
Haryana Government under the able leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal is committed to preserve the small and big ponds located in the state.
Taking another important step, now the Haryana Government is going to start the ‘Amrit Sarovar Mission’, which will be launched by the Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal on May 1, 2022 at a state level function in Sonipat. ‘Amrit Sarovar Mission’ will be launched at 111 places by the representatives of all Lok Sabha and assembly constituencies under the leadership of the Chief Minister.
