VLDA held taking Rs 18,000 bribe

Chandigarh, Oct 6 – Haryana State Vigilance Bureau has arrested a (Veterinary and Livestock Development Assistant) VLDA of Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department in Hisar district red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 18,000.

Giving this information here today, a spokesperson of the Bureau said that the arrested government official identified as Kuldeep Singh. The accused had demanded the bribe in lieu of sanctioning the animal loan of the complainant.

The complainant, a resident of village Landhari Tehsil Agroha who did not wish to pay a bribe approached the Vigilance Bureau and lodged a complaint against the accused employee in this regard. After verifying the facts, a team conducted a raid and nabbed the accused red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 18,000.

          A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act was registered against him and further investigation is underway.
