Haryana is hosting ‘Khelo India’ this time, which will encourage young players of the State
Chandigarh, December 30: The Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal said that Haryana has made a remarkable impression in the field of sports in terms of global perspective.
Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal, said this while addressing the winners of 29th National Fencing Competition at PWD rest house in Gurgaon today after honouring them with medals. On this occasion, President, Fencing Haryana, Sh. NK Solanki, Vice President of Fencing Association of India, Smt. Surekha Khatri, and Organising President, Sh. VK Beniwal presented him with a memento as a token of regard.
While speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that this time the fencing players of the state have created history by bagging overall trophy in both the categories in the National Fencing Competition with 14 medals. It has happened for the first time in the state. He said that Haryana is emerging as a sports hub on the global map. The sports policy of the state has now received high words of praise from many countries previously many states also appreciated the policy and put forward their wish to follow it.
Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister on this occasion, International Referee and National Coach, Sh. Ashok Khatri said that the video message sent by the Chief Minister filled the players with enthusiasm, as a result of which Haryana is at the top position in the country for the first time. Sh. Ashok said that the Olympic sensation Bhavani Devi herself praised the sports policy during the video conferencing with the Chief Minister. The mascot of the competition was also launched by the Chief Minister during the occasion.
On this occasion, State Vice President of Fencing, Sh. Jitendra Jaglan, International Referees, Sh. Anil, Sh. Ashwini Khatri, Sh. Amit and Sh. Sandeep Sihag and many parents were present.
