Red Cross best platform to serve needy: DC
KUPWARA, MAY 08, 2021: The District Red Cross Committee Kupwara today organized a function at D. C. Office here to celebrate World Red Cross Day.
The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the World Red Cross Day is being observed every year with an aim to reinvent the passion of mutual help among the citizens, adding that, every religion in the world teaches to help each other especially poor and destitute people.
The DC stressed upon the concerned to intensify the efforts for conducting of different welfare programmes including blood donation camps and ensure proper utilization of funds towards the weaker sections of the society especially poor, destitute, orphan and widows
He urged upon the participants to volunteer themselves for the Red Cross which is a best platform for serving the needy people. He also highlighted the need for motivation of the people for participation in the Red Cross activities and appreciated the volunteers for serving the people in need.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue also spoke on the occasion.
Among others, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Bashir Ahmad Bhat; Joint Director Planning, Abdul Majeed; Volunteers of District Red Cross Committee; employees and other concerned were present in the function.
