Addressing the gathering in Faridkot, YAD Coordinator Parambans Singh Romana said that it was shocking to see that while the people were yet to recover from the economic after shocks of COVID-19, this government had put an additional burder of Rs. 1000 crore on them. He said instead of giving relief to people by slashing VAT on Petrol and Diesel, which was the need of the hour, the government had imposed an additional duty of Rs. 1 on the petroleum products.
Asserting that the government had nothing to show by way of infrastructure development, Mr. Romana said, “additional funds collected by this measure will also be wasted on gimmicks and publicity campaigns for AAP in other states.
Romana said that though government had claimed that they would collect Rs. 30, 000 crore from the sand and gravel mining but it had not only failed to do so but its own party workers were indulging in illegal mining resulting in huge loss to state exchequer. He said not only this, AAP was looting the exchequer to further the instead of doing anything for the welfare of Punjabis.
He said people of the state would not tolerate such mischiefs and this government should immediate roll back its decision or else people would give a befitting reply in the coming bye election to Jalandhar Parliamentary constituency and later in MC elections due in the state. EOM.
