Yoga is effective in preventing Corona – CM Chouhan

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that saving the common people from the corona crisis is the greatest service to humanity. The whole world is struggling with a terrible epidemic. Never in the history of human civilization has there been such a big crisis. In our culture, life values and traditions, a healthy body is believed to be the first joy and many practices have been described. Our sages have developed the Yoga system with years of hard work, which focuses on the principle of staying healthy by developing immunity. In order to keep the people healthy during this horrific period of Corona, ‘Yoga se Nirog’ programme is being launched. In the programme, activities will be conducted to increase immunity of the people. Those who are affected by the Corona and are seeking health benefits while being in isolation will be given Yoga training for better health.
Chief Minister Chouhan was inaugurating the state level ‘Yoga se Nirog’ programme from his residence. School Education Minister Inder Singh Parmar from Shajapur and AYUSH Minister Ramkishore Nano Kawre from Balaghat participated virtually in the programme. Besides, representatives of Indian Yoga Association, Art of Living, Patanjali Yoga Peeth also took part virtually in the programme, Chief Minister Chouhan inaugurated a short film on Yogasan and Pranayam in the programme.
Yoga helpful in ending loneliness, depression, stress and anxiety
Chief Minister Chouhan said that yoga helps in enhancing immunity as well as improving oxygen levels, boosting morale, alleviating patients’ loneliness, depression, stress, anxiety, restlessness and negative emotions. Yoga programme will prove to be very effective for patients living in home isolation and for patients suffering from negative emotions as a result of Corona. About 72 percent of the state’s Covid patients are in home isolation. Yoga instructors will guide and assist these people in practising yoga, meditation, asanas, pranayam etc. at a fixed time according to the convenience of the patient through these phone calls, video calls.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that if the people living in home isolation and Covid Care Centres are cured, then it will be a big achievement for the state. This will save the burden on hospitals. Chief Minister Chouhan said from his own experience that after corona infection, yoga is effectively helpful in providing health benefits and maintaining resistance against disease. Chief Minister Chouhan held discussions with Yoga instructors like Krishna Yogendra Raghuvanshi of Guna, Sarita Bisen of Balaghat, Rishikesh Vashistha of Gwalior, Sunil Kumar Jain of Indore and Sunil Kumhade of Betul etc.
1067 instructors registered
Ayush Minister Ramkishore Nano Kawre said that the yoga programme is a result of the vision of Chief Minister Chouhan. This programme will help in boosting the morale, enthusiasm and self-confidence of the patients living in home isolation. Principal Secretary School Education Rashmi Arun Shami informed that 1067 instructors are registered in the programme started in collaboration with Art of Living, Bharat Yoga, Gayatri Parivar, Heart Fullness, Isha Foundation, Kevalya Dham, Patanjali Yoga Peetha etc. under the Indian Yoga Association. Each instructor will contact 10 patients living in the home isolation and give them 3-day yoga training. These activities will be coordinated with the District Command and Control Centre. A training module has been developed in this programme being run in coordination with the School Education Department and the Department of AYUSH.
