On Thursday Zirakpur police nabbed a gang of car thieves active in the area, armed gang involved in robberies on highways and a women who cuts women’s gold jewelery in the area.
Giving further information in this regard through a press conference, SP Rural Dr. Mr. Ravjot Kaur Grewal Disclosing here today said that SSP Mohali Mr. Satinder Singh took the aforesaid issues seriously and immediately issued necessary guidelines and initiated efforts by the police to find the culprits. The cases were traced within hours by the police with the help of technical means and conventional investigations. She said that SHO Zirakpur Inspector Unkar Singh Brar, SI Police party including Ajit Singh, ASI Sukhdev Singh, ASI Ramesh Lal arrested the accused for car theft and looting on the highway at different places and at different times. One member of the car theft gang has been arrested and the rest have been named. On the other hand 06 cars stolen from 2 different places have been recovered. All of these cars have fake number plates and a large number of other cars are likely to be recovered. Apart from this, a member of a gang who robbed passers-by has been arrested from whom an illegal ammunition (desi kata) has been recovered. Apart from this, a bangle-cutting woman has also been arrested and on the basis of her interrogation, her other accomplices have also been named against whom several cases have been registered. The accused have been produced in the court and remanded.
More incidents are expected to be traced during the investigation.
Disclosing this , Dr. Grewal said that on July 12, Amarjit Kaur, a resident of Noida, Uttar Pradesh, had informed the police that she had come to Zirakpur to visit her relative and got into an auto at Patiala Chowk to go to village Adda Jhugi. Meanwhile, four other women got into the car and started arguing with each other. When they got out of the car, a woman’s hand was on her left wrist and the gold bangle in her hand was missing. When he shouted, the women fled in a white Swift car to the Patiala side. A case was immediately registered against Amarjit Kaur. Zirakpur police have arrested Dushan Murti alias Gurnamo, wife of Issar, resident of village Johalia, police station Bhavanigarh, district Sangrur and are searching for the remaining accused. He said that several cases have been registered against the members of this gang in different police stations. He said that on July 11, Naresh Kumar, a resident of Vishranti City, Ghazipur Road, Zirakpur, was informed that he had parked his Jane car, color Silver, in the street outside his house at night, which was stolen by an unknown person at night. Has gone At the request of Naresh Kumar, a case was registered and a search for the thief was launched. In this connection Manoj Thakur son of Ramesh Thakur resident of Devipura Police Station Bhojpur District Moradabad (UP) was arrested from Big Bazar Zirakpur behind the recent slum dweller. He said that about 14 cases have been registered against him and he has been released on bail. He said that 6 vehicles were recovered from him who used to steal cars and sell them at cheaper rates. He said that the accused had stolen car number HR-22D-3376 brand Jain color silver which he had stolen from Heritage City Zirakpur, car number CH-04C-9618 brand Honda City color Silver which was Sector 21.A Chandigarh. The car number CH03C-8080 brand Honda City color silver which was stolen from Sector 28 Chandigarh, car number CH01 BW-2563 brand Honda City color silver which was stolen from local AKS Colony Zirakpur. The car number HR-70-6677 was stolen from Baltana and the car number HR-70-6677 was stolen from Baltana. R-03F: 2317 branded Jain color gray which he stole from Baltana has been recovered. He said that a similar case was registered on July 14 after receiving a tip-off about a gang looting on the highway at night out of fear of ammunition. Arpit’s son Ram Kishan, a resident of village Study Police Station, City Karnal, District Karnal, Haryana, also recovered a 315-bore desi cut and his accomplice is being sought for another accused. SP Dr. Grewal said that with the hard work of Zirakpur police station, the arrest of these accused has traced the existing cases and probable crimes that would have been committed by these accused have been averted.
