143 new polling stations added in three Legislative Assembly Constituencies of SAS Nagar

‘’Rationalization of those polling stations whose voter list exceeded the 1200 mark and 100 percent inspection of polling stations concluded in SAS Nagar district’’. It was disclosed by Assistant Deputy Commissioner (D) Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal during a meeting with representatives of various political parties to apprise them of the present status of the rationalization and inspection.
In a meeting held at District Administrative Complex, Dr. Aggarwal informed that 143 more polling stations were added during the rationalization in three Legislative Assembly Constituencies falling in the district. Elaborating further he said that 57 new polling stations added up in Kharar Constituency (052), While 34 new polling stations have been created in SAS Nagar Constituency (053), besides this 52 more stations were devised in Dera Bassi Constituency (112). He said that now the total tally goes up to 902 polling stations against the past tally of 759 stations.
Divulging more details, Dr. Aggarwal said that a special campaign for registration of voters was also initiated. Registration of first time young voters who attains 18 years of age, with qualifying date as January 1, 2022. He added that this exercise will be extensively carried out to constituency to booth level and in all villages and urban areas.
On this occasion, Joginder Singh of BJP, Sukhdev Singh of BSP, Ajaib Singh of INC, Bahadur Singh of AAP, Dr. Major Singh of SAD (Sanyukt), Ashwani of SAD, Dinesh Pal of CPI(M), Harnek Singh of BSP, Sukhveer Singh and Khushmeet Singh of INC were present.
