Government focused on skill set of youth in the budget – Deputy Chief Minister

 

Chandigarh, March 8 – Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala has described Haryana’s General Budget 2022-23 as the one to accelerate the development of the State. He said that although this Budget has been prepared keeping in mind the interest of all Sections, special emphasis has been laid on employment, industry, public works, rural development, Civil Aviation, this will open various doors for employment opportunities and investment for youth in future. He added that better road connectivity, upliftment of villagers and new technology in Aviation will be achieved and the infrastructure of the state will be strengthened. New policies and schemes included in the Budget like Padma, Regional Promotion Policy, Electric Vehicle Policy, Data Centre Policy, Aerospace and Defense Manufacturing Policy, Matrishakti Entrepreneurship Scheme, Small Resurgence Scheme Fund etc. will change the picture of development of the state.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that this time a budget of Rs. 598.20 crore has been allocated for the Industries Department, which is 31.12 percent more than the previous year. He said that to promote exports, subsidy would be given in freight transportation, which has been approved in the budget. Apart from this, the government has given special emphasis on skill development, which is the need of the hour because skill sets will provide an opportunity to the industries in the coming times and this will strengthen the objective of ‘The Haryana State Employment of Local Candidates Act, 2020’. Similarly, the establishment of “Haryana Foreign Employment Placement Cell” is a big step to provide training and placement to one lakh youth in the next two years. Establishment of 6 new industrial sanitation laboratories, 6 ESI hospitals, 14 ESI dispensaries in the budget will increase the health facilities of the workers.

Sh. Dushyant Chautala further informed that road and rail infrastructure, which is the backbone of the nation’s economic development, has also been given a special incentive in the budget, for which Rs. 4,752.02 crore has been allocated, which is 59.2 percent more than the previous year. He said that this time a target of construction of 300 km of new roads and improvement of 6,000 km of roads has been set in the state. He added that the government has laid great emphasis on the repair work of old roads along with new roads. Apart from this, a target has been taken to build 22 railway overbridges and vehicle underpasses in the state so that people get convenience.

Describing the budget allocated for the Civil Aviation Department as a record, the Deputy Chief Minister said that hardly ever before such a high percentage of budget has been received for this department. He said that this time 380.8 percent more budget has been received than last year, which will work to give wings to further accelerate the development work in the state. He said that the State Government would launch a ‘Credit Guarantee Scheme’ to train the youth in flying and increase the length of Karnal and Bhiwani airstrips from 3,000 feet to 5,000 feet. Not only this, ‘Night Landing’ facility will also be started at airstrips in Karnal, Bhiwani and Narnaul. The Deputy Chief Minister said that Electric Vehicle Policy, Aerospace-Defense Policy, Data Centre Policy have been prepared and will be implemented soon. This will increase new employment and investment opportunities in the state.
