6 food items you should definitely avoid in winters

CHANDIGARH

Cold weather brings laziness with it. One of the best times during winters is sitting around the bonfire and having a cup of coffee. In winters food cravings increase but some food items need to be avoided as when eaten in cold weather, can cause health problems, especially when eaten at night.

Here’s a list of ingredients that you must avoid at dinner time or entire winters for the next couple of months.

Yogurt

According to the Ayurveda, the essence of yogurt is cold, meaning that the impact of yogurt on the body is mucous-producing in nature. People who suffer from some breathing issues, asthma, cold and cough and any other respiratory infections should avoid eating yogurt as it can be pretty grim.

Milk

Children who suffer from asthma or have viral infection, then they should not drink milk as it is heavy in digestion. The undigested milk forms mucus and can infect you lethargy. Usually, we observe that people drink a glass of milk before bedtime but the right time to consume milk is in the morning or at evenings.

Bananas

Banana is very beneficial for health but is sweet and heavy, and takes time to digest. Bananas can also create coughs and colds and hence, it is better to avoid consuming them in winter.

Cold Drinks

Cod drink is also a favorite of all but in winters it pays harm to our body. Drinking at night in winter can create throat problems leading to lowered immunity, infection and illness.

Processed Cheese

Yummy!!! Favorite of all kids and adults. But we forget that the cheese contains high fat and high-calorie food. It has a property named lactose, a sugar that is harmful for the lactose- intolerant people as it creates difficulty in digestion. During winters the health problems can arise such as bloating or gas.

Fried Foods

Fried food contains high fat inflammation and it lowers the active immune system. Fried foods tend to be heavier and take longer time to digest which will create gas or diarrhea.

Instead of these foods, shit to the hot soup, ginger tea and have spices like turmeric, and consume honey instead of sugar. To keep the cough or other health deficiencies away, limit your fast food and eat a healthy diet.
