CHANDIGARH
To lead a healthy lifestyle, one needs to do some changes which affect their daily chores. Start with motivational advice regarding healthy food habits.
Mostly, kids develop their eating preferences from a younger age, so from starting feed your child with healthy food items.
To begin with, make your nutritious dish look interesting, fascinating and taste delicious as you can add toppings of their choice.
So here are some handy tips by which a child can start eating a healthy diet.
1. Have a conversation with your kids about how important it is to eat healthy foods.
As you are aware of the benefits of eating healthy, you can also make your child conscious about eating food and tell them how much benefits our body gets by eating those. Communicate with your children and tell them how important physical activities are to stay fit and free of any health conditions.
2. Be your child role model:
Every child sees their parents as role models, either their mother or father or both due to their deeds. The action of the kids is responsible for what they observe from their surroundings. So if you follow a healthy lifestyle, your children will also follow you and start eating what you eat. Always ensure that your actions encourage your child.
3. Engage your child in physical activities and try to play with them:
Due to Covid19 children were restricted to staying indoors and they took the advantage of this pandemic and indulged themselves around the electronics. There is an urgent requirement to engage them in physical activities for their overall growth. There are many games by which you can make them play at home itself, like chess, building blocks, art and craft, storybooks, hide and seek, and much more.
4. Promote homemade food than junk food:
Even the eatery shops which promote healthy foods contain more added sugar and unhealthy fats that affect your kid’s health. Another factor that affects is the clean environment that makes the food unfit to eat. Try once, make the same dish at home with original spices, and fewer fats as it will make it easy for children to adapt to homemade food.
5. Promote a healthy regime
Start their day with a healthy breakfast including fresh fruits, boiled eggs, and milk. Doctors suggest that children who start their day with a healthy breakfast tend to have stable moods and energy and concentrate on their academics properly. Eating a high-protein breakfast will prevent the craving of eating junk and keep them full for a longer time.
In the afternoon, nicely prepare a dish from green vegetables which will give a huge amount of nutrition and iron to their body. You can add pulses to the lunch.
Also, restrict their consumption of extra sugar and carbs as it increases the sugar levels which is not good. They also cause variations in mood and energy that affect overall health.
6. Nuts are also important for their health
Once a day, give them soaked almonds and other dry fruits for their brain development and the growth of their height.
To prevent the risk of childhood obesity, give them homemade fresh juices or smoothies to drink.
